Αρχική / Συνταγές / Apple crumble for 2 people with leftover apples from the fridge Desserts Apple crumble for 2 people with leftover apples from the fridge Servings 2 Preperation 10 minutes Cooking 25-30 minutes Waiting - 🖨️ Print Recipe Υλικά For the Apples: 2 apples, preferably red (if using green apples, add an extra tablespoon of sugar) 2 tbsp brown sugar ½ tbsp corn flour Juice of ½ lemon ½ tsp cinnamon ¼ tbsp nutmeg For the Crumble: 70 gr butter 50 gr oats 50 gr all-purpose flour 50 gr brown sugar 50 gr sliced almonds For the Custard: 300 ml heavy cream 2 eggs 3 tbsp sugar ½ tsp vanilla extract Execution Wash the apples and cut them into 2 cm cubes without peeling them. Mix the apples with the sugar, lemon juice, and spices, then place them in the baking dish. For the crumble, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and rub them together with your hands until the mixture resembles wet sand. Spread the crumble over the apples. Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 25-30 minutes. While the apple crumble is baking, prepare the custard. Heat the cream in a saucepan over medium heat. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar, salt, and vanilla. Gradually add the warm cream to the egg mixture, whisking constantly. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Be careful not to let it curdle. Serve the apple crumble warm with the custard on the side.
